Centre for the History of Defence Electronics
(CHiDE) is set up at Bournemouth University inspired by a visit John Beavis made to the D-Day radar exhibition in
Swanage. The
'Friends of CHiDE' were later renamed the Defence Electronics History Society www.dehs.org.uk
and relocated to Shrivenham.

Radar
exhibition at the Worth Café & Craft Centre fully
redesigned by Sq Ldr Mike Dean MBE with the aid
of a National Lottery Awards for All grant. The exhibition
was officially
opened by
Sir Bernard Lovell on Monday 17th July 2006. The Worth Craft
Centre closed in March 2007 and Mike Dean created and installed a
cut down version in the Swanage Museum & Heritage Centre.

set up in partnership with the Swanage Museum in July 2008 - subsequently
moved to Swanage Library in August 2011.

The story of the top secret development of radar in Purbeck during World War
