| Sqn Ldr Hayward recounts how Group Captain Frank Griffiths encouraged him to write about RAF Christchurch and provided him with photographs and his log book. He also introduced Hayward to several of the 'boffins' for whom he did the flying.
Group Captain Griffiths wrote two books about his RAF experiences "Winged Horses" in 1981 and "Angel Visits" in 1986. The latter contains a chapter about his time at RAF Christchurch. He wrote this introduction.
