Document Summary

Title:  RAF Christchurch by Sqn Ldr Hayward - 5 Special Duty Flight Part 3
Author:  Hayward, Sqn Ldr Frank
Abstract: The GCI is set up at Sopley and modified with all the latest developments from TRE by John Duckworth. This was very successful and set the pattern for all the following GCIs. GEE was developed and also EUREKA and BABS. The 10cm centimetres AIs MkVII and MkVIII were flight tested and the Leigh Light was added to Long Range ASV (LRASV) aircraft to enable checks to be made on surfaced U boats to ensure that they were not boats of the French fishing fleet.
