Abstract: |
Anti invasion trials involving the radar detection of gliders were carried out and work
continued on improving AI. Effort increased on ASV, sideways looking and forward looking
aerials were tried and the tactic of 'sweeping' an area of the sea using the sideways
looking aerials then switching to forward looking Yagis for attack was investigated.
Equipment to detect the beams used by the enemy for bombing was set up.
A programme to develop the use of special Ground Control Interception (GCI) radars to
engage enemy night attackers was started.
Flt Lt Rayment, the flight commander, was unfortunately lost.
