During the war Joshua Sieger was in charge of engineering (design & workshops) for TRE.  He set up the Radio Production Unit (RPU) in Bournemouth to manufacture small numbers of equipment to a very high standard for experimental use before going into production.

After the war he spent some time as an engineering consultant.  He later developed a gas detector - especially for use on boats.
