During the war Arthur Llewelyn worked on Airborne Interception (AI) and Automatic Gun Laying Turret (AGLT).  The March '42 organisation chart shows him in the group working on responder beacons.

Later he went to the Air Mnisty as a temporary scientific advisor.  In 1967 he became the first director of the Computer Aided Design Centre near Cambridge.
