Raye
Gough was born in Swanage and took a job at the establishment - shown as working in the library on the March 1942 chart.
She later worked in the photographic group with Doug Fisher and Murry
Hardy. Her hands often appeared in photographs for manuals which
showed how to operate equipment! In 1942, shortly before the move to
Malvern, she married Dr Bill Penley, one of the research scientists.
