Document Summary

Title:  The D-Day Spoof Invasion
Author:  Cockburn, Sir Robert
Abstract: Early in 1944 TRE put forward plans for a "spoof" invasion to divert German attention from the real invasion. The D-Day planners eagerly accepted this and Bob Cockburn was given Top Secret clearance to join the planning team. He played a major role and these notes explain some aspects of what was done.
